Associate Environmental Planner (CEQA/NEPA Re-examination)

Job Description
Rincon Consultants is seeking an Associate Planner based in Fresno to support Construction Package 1 of the California High-Speed Train project.

The Associate Environmental Planner (CEQA/NEPA Re-examination)will:

  • Review CEQA/NEPA re-examinations prepared by the Design/Build Contractor for completeness and consistency with the existing project Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the Design/Build Contractor and the California High-Speed Rail Authority regarding the completeness of the CEQA/NEPA re-examination documentation
  • Provide other support as needed to the environmental compliance program for Construction Package 1
  • Demonstrate confidence in decision-making and be recognized by clients and peers as having expertise in CEQA/NEPA and related technical areas

Relocation costs may be considered.

Experience and Skills:

  • BS/BA Degree in applicable field and 3 years of increasingly responsible experience required
  • Advanced Degree (Masters/PhD) preferred
  • Experience in a private environmental consulting firm preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent organization, schedule and budget management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
