Experience and Skills:

Minimum Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • BS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science and Management, or equivalent and at least 5+ years of relevant environmental compliance or environmental consulting experience
  • MS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science and Management or equivalent from an accredited university or college and 5 years of relevant consulting experience


Qualified candidates ideally will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in at least 3 of the following areas:

Environmental Compliance and Biological Resources Assessment

  • Environmental compliance oversight
  • Regulatory compliance monitoring
  • CEQA/NEPA project management
  • Species surveys
  • Wetland delineations & jurisdictional determinations
  • Regulatory permitting
  • Restoration, habitat management, mitigation monitoring

Responsibilities include:

Project Management

  • Coordinating and tracking of assignments, scopes, schedules budgets and deliverables
  • Technical writing
  • Technical direction to staff
  • Client communications
  • QA / QC


  • Client outreach
  • Proposal writing
  • Client interviews
  • Presentations 

Technical Work

  • Review plans and specifications for compliance with approved Land Use and Resource Agency Permits
  • Conduct fieldwork necessary to complete biological and other environmental assessment and compliance documentation
  • Preparation of high quality technical studies and environmental documents.  The Senior Biologist/Environmental Specialist has the ability to manage and complete moderate to large sized projects and major tasks of larger projects.  The majority of work is completed in a largely unsupervised manner but under the direction of one of the firm’s Principals or Senior Program Managers.

The qualified candidate should demonstrate a minimum of 5+ years of progressive and successful experience in the above areas. Additionally, the qualified candidate should demonstrate their past / current successes of being solution-orientated, and fostering positive relationships with staff, clients, agencies and sub-consultants.
