We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and detail-oriented professional for a Technical Illustrator-CAD/3D Modeling/Graphics Design Technician opening to join our team on a full, part-time, or as needed basis.
The Technical Illustrator CAD/Graphics Design Technician performs work in a variety of capacities:
Drafting work is performed using AutoCAD and/or equivalent design and documentation software, requiring knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques, prepares drawings of structures, facilities, land profiles, flowcharts, site plans, cross-sections, and similar graphics related to environmental services. Imports and revises information obtained from other engineering and planning firms.
3D Modeling is performed using Trimble Sketchup to create accurately scaled 3D models. Models are used in viewshed analysis, massing studies, shadow, visual simulations, verification, and light based analysis and generally exported to pdf format.
Graphic design support includes but is not limited to the preparation of presentation ready graphics, contract deliverables, infographics, and reports. This is accomplished through the development and revision of graphic layouts to improve the quality and enhance the usability of these documents using specialized graphics computer software. Use of software programs including, but not limited to, Adobe Illustrator (high proficiency), Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign; Corel Designer; Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
Beneficial skills the candidates may have include GIS support and video editing:
- GIS Support: utilize GIS software (ESRI), create multiple types of maps and implements GIS analytical tools for producing information for use in environmental and biological reports. Acquires, maintains, and updates GIS data layers; makes GIS data layers available company-wide for viewing and querying via published map files, acquires digital aerial photography and other assets for use in mapping, and maintains the GIS library and metadata. Use of multiple ArcMap plug-ins, scripting, ortho-rectification, data modeling, and differential correction of field data acquired from GPS equipment.
- Video Editing: utilize Adobe Premier to edit training videos, marketing materials, proof of concepts and innovation
