We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Senior Air Quality Specialist. 

The primary job responsibilities will focus around air quality/greenhouse gas analysis with secondary responsibilities pertaining to project management and proposals/marketing efforts. This position serves as a liaison between Rincon, our clients, contractors, and relevant agencies to ensure studies are performed compliant with regulatory guidelines and generally accepted professional standards. This position requires the ability to perform and manage fieldwork, an understanding of modeling techniques and regulatory requirements, clear writing and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and may require occasional travel.

Examples of Air Quality Responsibilities

  • Prepare air quality/health risk/greenhouse gas assessments for various project ranging from individual activities and projects to regional land use programs (e.g. Regional Transportation Plan/General Plans/Climate Action Plans)
  • Develop mitigation measures, performance measurement matrixes, and monitoring programs
  • Prepare proposals and marketing materials for air quality and greenhouse gas assessment services
  • Conduct senior, peer, and third-party reviews of technical analyses and sections of environmental documents
  • Assist in staff training program and workload management

Experience and Skills:


  • Expert level understanding of air quality regulations and how they relate to CEQA/NEPA analyses
  • High level understanding of air quality and greenhouse gas modeling and impact assessment methods recommended by the US EPA, CARB, FHWA, FAA, Caltrans, etc.
  • Experience with air emissions modeling software, such as ISC/AERMOD, HARP, CALINE, CalEEMod, Nonroad/OFFROAD, and MOVES/EMFAC, and other emission modeling methods such as US EPA AP-42
  • 10+ Years of Demonstrated Professional Experience
